Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Irex racing to windward with Calshot off her starboard quarter; and Galatea approaching the windward mark with the Royal Yacht Squadron off her stern by Barlow Moore was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in May 2000. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,602.63), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barlow Moore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storm, Fishing Boat Passing The Elbe, Lightvessel, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,990.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Irex racing to windward with Calshot off her starboard quarter; and Galatea approaching the windward mark with the Royal Yacht Squadron off her stern von Barlow Moore wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.602,63) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Barlow Moore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Storm, Fishing Boat Passing The Elbe, Lightvessel beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.990,38) versteigert wurde.
