Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work At the turning mark; Rounding the lightship; and A racing schooner on a beam reach by Barlow Moore. The price achieved of GBP 956.00 (€ 1,434.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barlow Moore - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storm, Fishing Boat Passing The Elbe, Lightvessel, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,990.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit At the turning mark; Rounding the lightship; and A racing schooner on a beam reach von Barlow Moore zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 956,00 (€ 1.434,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Barlow Moore mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Storm, Fishing Boat Passing The Elbe, Lightvessel beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.990,38) versteigert wurde.
