Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Barend van der Meer could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Master Paintings auction, the work Still Life With A Roemer, Fruit, Porcelain And A Dish Of Olives All On A Table Draped With A Carpet changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,817.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Barend van der Meer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 68,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Barend van der Meer konnte im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Master Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Still Life With A Roemer, Fruit, Porcelain And A Dish Of Olives All On A Table Draped With A Carpet für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.817,65) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barend van der Meer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.200,00.
