This artwork by Barend van der Meer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2010. In the The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House auction, the work Peaches, grapes and pomegranates on a plate, a sliced orange and walnuts on a partly draped table with a wine glass sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,431.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Barend van der Meer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 68,200.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Barend van der Meer erzielte im November 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House wurde die Arbeit Peaches, grapes and pomegranates on a plate, a sliced orange and walnuts on a partly draped table with a wine glass für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.431,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barend van der Meer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.200,00.
