The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,950.00 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Barend van der Meer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 68,200.00.

Die Arbeit A pomegranate, grapes and peaches on a draped table von Barend van der Meer wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 11.950,00 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barend van der Meer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.200,00.
