Auction result well in line with expectations

In February 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A Still Life With A Parrot, Together With A Flagon Of Wine, A Bunch Of Grapes, Peaches And Redcurrants On A Marble Ledge by Barend van der Meer. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,539.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barend van der Meer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 68,200.00.

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Februar 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Still Life With A Parrot, Together With A Flagon Of Wine, A Bunch Of Grapes, Peaches And Redcurrants On A Marble Ledge von Barend van der Meer zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.539,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barend van der Meer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Früchtestillleben mit einem Römer und Vögeln im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.200,00.
