Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three Forms (Winter Rocks) by Barbara Hepworth was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 415,800.00 (€ 402,789.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).

Die Arbeit Three Forms (Winter Rocks) von Barbara Hepworth wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 415.800,00 (€ 402.789,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
