Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Squares (June) by Barbara Hepworth was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 157,500.00 (€ 152,571.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barbara Hepworth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Family of Man: Ancestor II in November this year with an auction result of USD 11,565,000.00 (€ 10,602,310.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Squares (June) von Barbara Hepworth kam im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 157.500,00 (€ 152.571,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barbara Hepworth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Family of Man: Ancestor II im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.565.000,00 (€ 10.602.310,23).
