two photo-lithographs with raised braille and collaged text overmats, 1985-8, on wove paper, both presumably signed and dated '1988' in pencil on the reverse and again on the undermats, both from the editions of 15 (there were also an unrecorded number of artist's proofs), published by the artist, both presumably with full margins, partially adhered to the undermats (as issued), minor surface soiling, one with pale scattered moisture staining, otherwise both apparently in good condition, one examined out of the artist's frame with Plexiglas and cut-out

Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Espirit de L'Escalier (Work For The Blind); And (One Day, Quite Some Time Ago...) by Barbara Bloom was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 836.50 (€ 673.67). Admittedly, works by Barbara Bloom have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Reign of Narcissism, Mirror I; and The Reign of Narcissism, Mirror VI in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,294.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Espirit de L'Escalier (Work For The Blind); And (One Day, Quite Some Time Ago...) von Barbara Bloom im September 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 836,50 (€ 673,67) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Barbara Bloom auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Reign of Narcissism, Mirror I; and The Reign of Narcissism, Mirror VI im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.294,74).
