Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nature morte au chapeau bernois by Balthus was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 75,600.00 (€ 86,009.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thérèse Sur Une Banquette in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 19,002,500.00 (€ 17,044,129.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nature morte au chapeau bernois von Balthus wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 75.600,00 (€ 86.009,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thérèse Sur Une Banquette im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.002.500,00 (€ 17.044.129,52).
