In April 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Granite Cliffs by Balcomb Greene. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,976.49), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Balcomb Greene - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Balanced Moving, which sold at auction in February 2016 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,003.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im April 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Granite Cliffs von Balcomb Greene zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.976,49) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Balcomb Greene mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Balanced Moving beobachtet, die im Februar 2016 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.003,31) versteigert wurde.
