Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gale in October by Balcomb Greene was sold in the Living With Art auction at Christies in New York in February 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,990.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Balcomb Greene have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Balanced Moving in February 2016 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,003.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gale in October von Balcomb Greene wurde im Februar 2016 in der Auktion Living With Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.990,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Balcomb Greene auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Balanced Moving im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.003,31).
