Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Still-Life With A Flying Gandharva; Still-Life With Bird by Badri Narayan. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,228.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Badri Narayan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 52,908.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still-Life With A Flying Gandharva; Still-Life With Bird von Badri Narayan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.228,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Badri Narayan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 74.500,00 (€ 52.908,17).
