Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by B. Vithal achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2020. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Sur Bahar sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,867.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by B. Vithal; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Horses) sold at auction in September 2020 with the realized price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 23,468.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von B. Vithal erzielte im September 2020 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Sur Bahar für USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.867,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von B. Vithal; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (Horses) im September 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 23.468,17).
