Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Sothebys in New York held the auction Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings, which included the work Still Life by B. Vithal. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,500.00 (€ 3,546.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by B. Vithal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Horses) in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 23,468.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von B. Vithal zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.500,00 (€ 3.546,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von B. Vithal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Horses) im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 23.468,17).
