Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Alba by Ayan Farah was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,539.20). Admittedly, works by Ayan Farah have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saline in April 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 12,874.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Alba von Ayan Farah im September 2015 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.539,20) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ayan Farah auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saline im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 12.874,04).
