Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rumbia Dan Orang-Orang (Sago And People) by Awang Damit Ahmad was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,535.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Awang Damit Ahmad - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Garis Mega (Iraga Series), which sold at auction in October 2014 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 61,771.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rumbia Dan Orang-Orang (Sago And People) von Awang Damit Ahmad kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.535,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Awang Damit Ahmad mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Garis Mega (Iraga Series) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 61.771,75) versteigert wurde.
