This artwork by Awang Damit Ahmad achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work E.O.C "Rawan Dan Kemudi" sold for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 36,994.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Awang Damit Ahmad; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Garis Mega (Iraga Series) sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 61,771.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Awang Damit Ahmad erzielte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit E.O.C "Rawan Dan Kemudi" für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 36.994,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Awang Damit Ahmad; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Garis Mega (Iraga Series) im Oktober 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 61.771,75).
