This artwork by Awang Damit Ahmad achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work Lampit Ada Pucuk Paku sold for HKD 140,000.00 (€ 14,989.19) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Awang Damit Ahmad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garis Mega (Iraga Series) in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 600,000.00 (€ 61,771.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Awang Damit Ahmad erzielte im April 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Lampit Ada Pucuk Paku für HKD 140.000,00 (€ 14.989,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Awang Damit Ahmad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garis Mega (Iraga Series) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 600.000,00 (€ 61.771,75).
