Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Diana of the Tower by Augustus Saint-Gaudens was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2017. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 655,500.00 (€ 583,392.67). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Augustus Saint-Gaudens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Victory, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 2,047,500.00 (€ 1,822,267.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Diana of the Tower von Augustus Saint-Gaudens wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 655.500,00 (€ 583.392,67) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Augustus Saint-Gaudens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Victory beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 2.047.500,00 (€ 1.822.267,71) versteigert wurde.
