Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Unknown by Arturo Luz was worth HKD 1,240,000.00 (€ 117,272.73) to a buyer in May 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arturo Luz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Candle Vendors, which sold at auction in November 2013 for HKD 2,920,000.00 (€ 276,848.45).
