Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Anito (Idol) by Arturo Luz was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. The price achieved of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,234.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arturo Luz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Candle Vendors in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 2,920,000.00 (€ 276,848.45).

Die Arbeit Anito (Idol) von Arturo Luz wurde im Oktober 2011 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.234,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arturo Luz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Candle Vendors im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.920.000,00 (€ 276.848,45).
