Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Colorado River From Plateau' by Arthur Wesley Dow. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,976.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Wesley Dow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Moon Over The Hill, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,954.51).
