Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Uncertainty by Arthur Hughes. The price achieved of GBP 170,500.00 (€ 205,173.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Uncertainty von Arthur Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 170.500,00 (€ 205.173,93) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hughes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 380.650,00 (€ 555.736,99) versteigert wurde.
