In the British & Irish Art auction, the work Study For Sir Galahad - The Quest For The Holy Grail sold for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,964.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hughes erzielen.
