Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work A Slight Chance (A Good Chance) by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 322,000.00 (€ 292,887.03). Admittedly, works by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Check--Keep Your Distance in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,934,232.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Slight Chance (A Good Chance) von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 322.000,00 (€ 292.887,03) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Check--Keep Your Distance im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.934.232,03).
