The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,975.45), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Check--Keep Your Distance in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,934,232.03).

Die Arbeit Hen Quail And Chickens von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.975,45) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Check--Keep Your Distance im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.934.232,03).
