Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Chickens on Rock by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,970.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Check--Keep Your Distance in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,934,232.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chickens on Rock von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.970,41) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Check--Keep Your Distance im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.934.232,03).
