Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Surprise by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait was sold in the 19th Century American Art auction at Christies in New York in January this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,406.52). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Check--Keep Your Distance in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,934,232.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Surprise von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.406,52) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Check--Keep Your Distance im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.934.232,03).
