Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
When the work Les Lavandières by Armand Seguin was auctioned at Christies in Paris in December 2006, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 1,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than eight times as high at EUR 12,960.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Armand Seguin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les délices de la vie in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 7,737,500.00 (€ 6,630,248.50).
Kunstwerk zum Achtfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Les Lavandières von Armand Seguin im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 1.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 12.960,00 mehr als achtmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Armand Seguin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les délices de la vie im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.737.500,00 (€ 6.630.248,50).
