Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work The Nativity by Antonio Gattorno. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 36,770.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Gattorno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waiting for the Coffee Fragment of Bacardi Mural, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 120,000.00 (€ 88,757.40).
