Auction result well in line with expectations
In February this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary Cuban Art, which included the work Espera 54 13/16 x 42 5/8 in (139.2 x 108.2 cm) by Antonio Gattorno. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,500.00 (€ 24,052.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Gattorno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waiting for the Coffee Fragment of Bacardi Mural, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 120,000.00 (€ 88,757.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Cuban Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Espera 54 13/16 x 42 5/8 in (139.2 x 108.2 cm) von Antonio Gattorno zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.500,00 (€ 24.052,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Gattorno mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waiting for the Coffee Fragment of Bacardi Mural beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 120.000,00 (€ 88.757,40) versteigert wurde.
