Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Southern Garden by Anthony Thieme was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,727.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Thieme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Light on the Suwannee River in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 119,422.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Southern Garden von Anthony Thieme kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.727,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Thieme erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Light on the Suwannee River im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 119.422,79).
