Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gloucester Harbor by Anthony Thieme was sold in the American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2016. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,543.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anthony Thieme have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening Light on the Suwannee River in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 119,422.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gloucester Harbor von Anthony Thieme wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.543,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Thieme auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening Light on the Suwannee River im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 119.422,79).
