Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Woolworths 39 Bus by Anthony Green was sold in the 20th Century British and Irish Art auction at Sothebys in Olympia in September 2006. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,248.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthony Green - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Chinese Lantern, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,561.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Woolworths 39 Bus von Anthony Green wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.248,61) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthony Green mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Chinese Lantern beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 16.800,00 (€ 12.561,69) versteigert wurde.
