Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Proposal by Anthony Green was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in September 2000. The price achieved of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,555.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Anthony Green have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Chinese Lantern in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,561.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Proposal von Anthony Green wurde im September 2000 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.555,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Green auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Chinese Lantern im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.800,00 (€ 12.561,69).
