Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A view of the Parkhaven seen from St Job, Rotterdam by Anthonie Pieter Schotel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,346.00. Admittedly, works by Anthonie Pieter Schotel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris in February 2008 with an auction result of EUR 18,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A view of the Parkhaven seen from St Job, Rotterdam von Anthonie Pieter Schotel im September 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.346,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthonie Pieter Schotel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.250,00.
