In September 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Sailing on a calm by Anthonie Pieter Schotel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 6,250.00 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthonie Pieter Schotel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 18,250.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im September 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sailing on a calm von Anthonie Pieter Schotel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 6.250,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Anthonie Pieter Schotel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rush hour on the Place de L'Opéra, Paris beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für EUR 18.250,00 versteigert wurde.
