In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work A shepherd and his flock by Anthonie Jacobus van Wyngaerdt. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 878.48) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthonie Jacobus van Wyngaerdt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A country cottage in March 2000 with an auction result of USD 16,100.00 (€ 16,816.38).
