Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Surrealist Landscape by Anne Ryan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 2,768.11). Admittedly, works by Anne Ryan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (No. 234) signed 'A. Ryan' (lower right); signed again, titled and dated 'No. 234 3-5-49 A. Ryan' (on the backing board) printed paper, string, metallic paper, watercolor, ink and glue collage on paper 7 x 5½ in. (17.7 x 13.9 cm. in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,572.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Surrealist Landscape von Anne Ryan im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 2.768,11) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anne Ryan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (No. 234) signed 'A. Ryan' (lower right); signed again, titled and dated 'No. 234 3-5-49 A. Ryan' (on the backing board) printed paper, string, metallic paper, watercolor, ink and glue collage on paper 7 x 5½ in. (17.7 x 13.9 cm. im Januar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 17.572,63).
