Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II, which included the work The Choice A Salamander Gave To Hobson by Ann Hamilton. The price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,061.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ann Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abc.Table in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 125,317.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Ginny Williams Collection: Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Choice A Salamander Gave To Hobson von Ann Hamilton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.061,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ann Hamilton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abc.Table im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 125.317,18).
