The work El Lector Juan Ramón Jiménez by Ángel Zárraga was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The price achieved of USD 237,500.00 (€ 209,750.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Other works by Ángel Zárraga have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2000 the work La novia was auctioned for USD 292,000.00 (€ 305,919.33).
