In October 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Prints And Multiples, which included the work Leonardo da Vinci, The Annunciation, 1472, from Details of Renaissance Paintings (Leonardo da Vinci) (F. & S. 323) by Andy Warhol. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,231.68), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
