Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work A Gentleman, Circa 1790 by Andrew Plimer. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrew Plimer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,479.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Gentleman, Circa 1790 von Andrew Plimer zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.850,00 (€ 41.479,72).
