Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Route 66, Arizona by Andreas Feininger was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,826.00 (€ 4,566.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Feininger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 46,343.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Route 66, Arizona von Andreas Feininger wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.826,00 (€ 4.566,62) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Feininger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 46.343,25).
