In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work 42nd Street as Viewed from Weehawken sold for USD 11,340.00 (€ 9,272.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andreas Feininger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 46,343.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Andreas Feininger erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wurde die Arbeit 42nd Street as Viewed from Weehawken für USD 11.340,00 (€ 9.272,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andreas Feininger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 46.343,25).
