In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale, which included the work Marée haute, grosse mer by André Hambourg. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,741.68), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by André Hambourg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Première de planches à voile dans l'estuaire de la Touques in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 51,164.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marée haute, grosse mer von André Hambourg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.741,68) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von André Hambourg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Première de planches à voile dans l'estuaire de la Touques im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 51.164,27).
