Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Black) by Ambadas Khobragade was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,414.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ambadas Khobragade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 36,500.00 (€ 46,429.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Black) von Ambadas Khobragade kam im März 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.414,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ambadas Khobragade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.500,00 (€ 46.429,60).
