ALVIN LANGDON COBURN (1882–1966) Williamsburg Bridge, New York, 1910 photogravure image: 7 1/2 x 6 in. (19 x 15.2 cm.) sheet: 8 1/8 x 6 1/4 in. (20.6 x 15.8 cm.) mount: 15 1/2 x 11 5/8 in. (39.3 x 29.5 cm.) This photogravure is from New York , published by Brentano, 1910 and was hand pulled by the artist.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Williamsburg Bridge, New York, 1910 by Alvin Langdon Coburn. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,597.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alvin Langdon Coburn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vortograph in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 605,000.00 (€ 439,137.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Williamsburg Bridge, New York, 1910 von Alvin Langdon Coburn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.597,83) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alvin Langdon Coburn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vortograph im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 605.000,00 (€ 439.137,69).
