Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Allison Katz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Showery sold for USD 63,500.00 (€ 58,214.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Allison Katz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cellophane Bouquet IV sold at auction in June this year with the realized price of GBP 59,220.00 (€ 68,921.88).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Allison Katz erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Showery für USD 63.500,00 (€ 58.214,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Allison Katz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Cellophane Bouquet IV im Juni diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 59.220,00 (€ 68.921,88).
